Heat Transfer Fluid Series
JINTHERM 602 is mainly composed of Dibenzyltoluene (CAS: 26898-17-9), its chemical molecular formula is C21H20. It is a good synthetic high-temperature heat carrier. It can operate stably for a long time at a temperature of up to 340°C (the highest ambient film temperature is 370°C), and its service life can reach 3 to 5 times that of similar mineral oils. At the same time, it has the characteristics of low toxicity, non-corrosiveness and biodegradability, making it an environmentally friendly product widely used in the market.

Material Compatibility
JINTHERM 602 does not corrode the usual metallic materials used in construction of plants and machinery. JINTHERM 602 is compatible with pure graphite, PTFE and fluorinated elastomers. These materials can be used as base materials for seals. In selecting the seals, note must be taken of the seal manufacturer's data for temperature resistance and mechanical strength.
Rubber-elastic binders swell on contact with JINTHERM 602 and should not be used in the seals for JINTHERM 602 plants.
Seals made of pure graphite have proven particularly useful in heat-transfer plants using JINTHERM 602. To increase the strength and dimensional stability, these seals are advantageously provided with a metallic insert, e.g. a sheet metal core.
Toxicological Properties & Safety
JINTHERM 602 is intended for use as heat-transfer medium in a closed plant. For safety and environmental reasons, escape of the heat-transfer medium is to be prevented or limited to a minimum amount by means of appropriate construction measures. When handling JINTHERM 602, the usual guidelines and recommendations for handling organic liquids should be observed and precautions should be taken.
Storage & Transport
JINTHERM 602 has a virtually unlimited storage life when stored in closed metal containers (e.g. aluminium or steel). No special safety precautions are required during storage.
When handling JINTHERM 602, in particular during filling and operation of a heat-transfer circuit, care should be taken that the product cannot enter the soil or the sewer system. If necessary the disposal of used JINTHERM 602, should be carried out in a waste incineration plant in compliance with official regulations.
In general, the waste code number for JINTHERM 602 will be determined by its application according to the EWC. In those cases in which it has not been used as a heat transfer fluid, follow your local regulations.
