These fluids serve as an effective heat transfer medium during high-temperature operations. The high-temperature synthetic heat transfer oil undergoes a coking process that includes induction, adsorption, hardening, and shedding. These processes lead to the formation of a layer of coke within the furnace tubes of the heat transfer oil system, which can affect the efficiency of heat transfer. Simultaneously, this layer isolates the high-temperature synthetic heat transfer oil from direct contact with the metal tube walls, reducing the risk of equipment corrosion by acidic components. The corrosiveness of the acid value to metal is thus minimized.
